During the shoot, I injured my back, a bulging disc-which my wife recently described as a pain worse than child birth when it happened to her. We were only half way through the day with 3 location/sets left. Beth stepped up with some anti inflammatory and pain meds. Despite ending the shoot with a new walking stick, having a strong team and clear vision of what I already wanted proved vital; the importance of planning ahead of time.

The work was later exhibited at @santa_bannon_fine_art_gallery in Bethlehem. A selection of images from the series can be found under Projects --> Beth's Journey on my website, or via the blog.

One of my mentor's @nkelsh taught me, if you don't leave room for the mast head you'll never get the cover. I have used this "tip" in almost every editorial assignment since and have landed quite a few covers as a result. Additionally, I always keep in mind shooting for potential spreads, or "room for copy." Both of these images are examples of this.

I knew nothing about horses previously, but have gained a huge appreciation and love for these huge animals with so much personality. They are from the deer family which is why they spook so easily. I'm missing these quick editorial lifestyle shoots for @success.partners (@jc_2739 and @perlsteinmark).
