When I shoot, I work quickly and intuitively shooting at times without looking at the subject, and looking for something I have not seen before. Because I am limited to 30 minutes at most per subject, I tend to shoot quite a bit, rather quickly, stopping to ask, listen, connect, and share.

I've always liked how the reflection of lights oft I've always liked how the reflection of lights often look like spaceships, which is what immediately drew me to this environment. Pulling in narrative, especially for editorial gigs, is part of what makes magazine work so fun, creative, and satisfying.

I always love shooting for golf magazines because I always love shooting for golf magazines because it typically involves seeing beautiful, state of the art golf courses, spending the day mostly outdoors, and of course, getting to drive golf carts around all day. This specific publication has no interest in seeing the actual courses, and instead focuses on a niche market, golf course owners. The only request from the editor is to come back with "cool images."

Ready, Willing & Able trainees work to rebuild the Ready, Willing & Able trainees work to rebuild their lives and work to keep many of Philadelphia's parks, sidewalks, public spaces and facilities clean. Joseph (pictured) explained how the men had different opportunities to earn money, one being a program that involved running every morning. The concept being, you have to be clean to consistently wake up early and run every morning—genius.

Ready, Willing & Able Philadelphia is a chapter of the @thedoefund, a national transitional program that helps recovering addicts, ex-convicts, and homeless "break the cycle of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism by providing paid transitional work, occupational training, housing, and comprehensive support services." RWA works with Philadelphians facing serious social and economic barriers: 100% are homeless, nearly 70% of RWA trainees have incarceration histories of 5 years or more; 96% have a history of drug or alcohol abuse; and 36% do not have a high school diploma or a GED.
