Congratulations to our favorite printer, Brilliant Graphics, who just won a Gold medal for Sappi’s “Printers of the Year” contest! Brilliant won in the “Magazines — Sheet” category, their 4th year straight in the competition. Check out the contest winners.
Although local to us in the Philadelphia area, we consider their work to be unparalleled worldwide. I asked Dave if he had anything to add about Brilliant, and he quickly replied:
“They print for galleries and have worked with the Guggenheim Museum, iconic American painter Andrew Wyeth, luxury brands Godiva and Coach, the Aperture photography foundation, plus many fine art photographers (who can be very very picky). It’s not just their printing, but also Bob Tursack’s obsessive attention to detail and passionate hands-on approach from start to finish.”
Dave also mentioned Peter Philbin’s unsurpassed CMYK conversions. They’ve collaborated since the days of the now defunct Becote and Gershwin, who was known for their spectacular B&W small run printing. Dave used them for custom quadtone work.
