In early August, we got a call to photograph Steve Buscemi for the New York Observer. Buscemi has been in over 130 films, and you’ve seen him in classics such as Reservoir Dogs, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, on TV with The Sopranos and 30 Rock, and as the star of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. Most recently, he’s hosted, directed, and executive produced AOL Originals’ Emmy-nominated Park Bench series, an innovative and clever combination of sketch comedy and talk show that all takes place on a park bench.
Each roughly 10-minute episode, shot either in a city park or at a location such as City Hall (have bench, will travel), is a pressure-cooked stew of sketch comedy, improv, music and traditional Q&A – New York Observer
It was an honor and privilege to photograph Mr. Buscemi, who was a delight to work with. He recently had my daughter’s eurythmy teacher from her early childhood on Park Bench and is the voice of the self tour audio for Eastern State Penitentiary, two closer degrees of separation. Check out some of the images. Which is your favorite?
